Sequins and Sunhat

It's an odd combination. It kind of happened organically. I had the sequined corset on the dress form with the pearls, but no bottom (Oh my! Shocking, I know!) Then, Sheena put the skirt on the form and I added the hat, mainly because I had no place to keep the hat where it wouldn't get crushed. The resulting ensemble is what you see here. By the way, no, it's not a skating dress!

Parade dress

This dress is for Sheena to wear for square dancing with the Rambling Rogues in this year's Swallows Day Parade in San Juan Capistrano. The accents are of the fabric worn by all of the club members. The bow on the right hip is actually for Sheena's hair, clipped to the side of the hip scarf, for the photo.

In search of

This ball of baby yarn is in search of a project. My hands have been idle for a few weeks and the yarn has been patiently waiting. Soon, I promise.

Sea Shell Cross-stitch

I'm working on this cross-stitch pattern of sea shells, but it's a gift for my Mom and Step-dad for Christmas, so...Shhhhh!

Doll nightie

I've had this doll nightie for a few years and had decided that it needs a little more color in the embroidery. Here is before.

And here it is after. I think it looks much more cheerful!

Hats, hats, and more hats!

These are some of the hats being used in the OCC production of Sherlock Holmes this week.

Victorian Lace

This is a lovely, ladies' suit dress embellished with a large lace collar and applique' on the skirt. The actress wearing it in the show is teeny, tiny...about a size 2. I did the suit, and then later, worked on a coordinating hat. (See the flowery, veiled hat in the next post!)
